The Spring issue of True Crime: Case Files is here! Don’t miss this compelling edition! There is an exclusive interview with activist and attorney Gloria Allred, plus 69 pages of true crime. My story on the Richard Sepolio trial, “Death Under the Coronado Bridge” begins on page 45.
The seminal issue in the Richard Sepolio trial was whether Richard Sepolio, a 24-year-old Navy petty officer was under the influence of alcohol on October 15, 2016, when his truck plunged off the Coronado Bridge into Chicano Park, killing four people and seriously injuring seven others. A crowd of over 1,000 people were in the park that day enjoying a festive motorcycle rally when at 3:33 p.m. a truck “fell out of the sky,” crashing to the ground below. Richard Sepolio was charged with 13 felonies, including gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, DUI, and reckless driving. Come with me into the courtroom for this heartbreaking and unforgettable trial.
